Pat Dye, Jr.
President

As the son of a former professional football player and College Football Hall of Fame coach, Pat Dye Jr. has been around football literally since birth. Consequently, he saw first hand the price football players must pay to have a professional career. Unfortunately, he also saw players routinely misguided by incompetent and unscrupulous agents. Seeing these misfortunes inspired him to become a sports attorney.

After graduating from law school among the top five students in his class, Pat combined a lifelong background in football with his legal training and was instantly successful as a sports attorney. After more than 20 years in his profession, he has established a reputation, even among competitors for being professional, honest, and very effective. He has negotiated more than a billion dollars in NFL contracts, a total that grows daily. He has impacted the career of numerous star players, many of whom were first round NFL draft choices. The landmark results he has achieved for his clients have been chronicled by Sports Illustrated, ESPN, Fox Sports, NFL Network, USA Today, The Sporting News, Pro Football Weekly, numerous other publications and newspapers in every NFL city. Above and beyond his success and recognition, however, Pat still cherishes his close personal relationship with each client more than anything.

With a reputation for integrity that is unique to the profession, major universities frequently call on him to address players on the pitfalls of choosing an agent. His professional expertise is so highly regarded that he is often asked to lecture at sports law seminars. His family’s presence in football for more than 50 years has also provided Pat with countless contacts and extraordinary relationships around the NFL.

In sum, with a track record that is unsurpassed in his profession, an impeccable reputation for integrity, and a great concern for each client’s well being, Pat is the ideal representative for today’s NFL player.

“Pat's clients are all strong character guys and that is pretty much a reflection of Pat. There aren’t a lot of guys in his line I would trust if I had a kid who needed an agent, but he is one of ‘em.”

"I've known of Pat and his family since the 1970's when his father was an assistant coach at Alabama, where I played college ball. I have known Pat professionally ever since I started working in the Browns front office. He knows football because he grew up around the game and that helps him a lot in advising his clients during their career. I also know that I can trust Pat."

“Because Pat obeyed the UF rules and didn’t contact me during the season, I didn’t know him personally at all when he met with me and the UF Sports Counseling Panel. After meeting with him, the panel and I knew immediately he could help me overcome a few things. He helped save my first round draft situation, and he has been a very cool guy in some very stressful situations.”

"Pat has a great gift for dealing with people. He is really down-home, down-to-earth and someone you can take to real quickly. He's one of the few agents that came into our house and made us feel comfortable. That's important, because you are recruiting the parents as much as the player. As a parent, I really appreciate how he was with Garrison during all of the ups and downs during his 12 year NFL career. Pat's always in our thoughts."

“I was still coaching when Pat approached me in 1987 about becoming a sports agent after law school. I was not very receptive to my son pursuing this profession because several of my players and I had experienced problems with unscrupulous agents. Well, he has gone on to have a very successful career, and more importantly, he’s done it the “right way” every day for 20 plus years. It makes me awfully proud when my coaching friends tell me what a great job Pat and his team have done for their players through the years.”
